TMG 160 is an environmentally friendly inorganic tin catalyst for the production of polyester resin and oleochemicals. The product has a high level of catalytic activity, leading to almost complete conversion, short reaction times, especially at higher reaction temperatures (>180°C), and the ability to produce light colored esters. Secondary reactions rarely occur compared to acidic catalysts.
TMG 160 is non-corrosive. The amount of TMG 160 usually used in the esterification process is between 0.06-0.1%. After the reaction is complete, it can be removed by chemical treatment or adsorption with TMG TINEX product.
